AUTOGRAPHED copy of a beautiful, oversized book: 12.25” x 9.25”, 176 pages. At time of publication, the author owned AMERICA'S LARGEST exclusive rhododendron nursery. The book became an instant hit in America when published in 1969 (the color photos were a first for a rhododendron book). Hardcover and every page includes glorious color photos. Includes a listing of species and hybrids along with a short description of each. VAN VEEN NURSERY still exists today in PORTLAND, OREGON. DJ is price clipped and quite worn, but intact, as shown in photos. Actually, the DJ did a wonderful job of preserving the book. The pages, as well as the boards, are bright. Bumped corners and spine, and scuffed on back corner. Light spotting to page tops. No writing aside from a small gift inscription. Ships in a box with bubble wrap, Media Mail. (7B) (SW4)
